Apply First Aid Held Monthly on the Sunshine Coast

Nationally Recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework

Apply First Aid was previously known as Senior First Aid) Apply First Aid (HLTFA301B). This unit incorporates the content of units: Provide Basic Emergency Life Support (HLTFA201A) and Perform CPR (HLTCPR201A)

This is a comprehensive yet simple course suitable for everyday emergency situations. The Apply First Aid course is a minimum qualification required by workplace health and safety legislation for the workplace first aider. It also covers first aid for injuries or illnesses that may be encountered at home or during recreation. You will be trained in first aid procedures recommended to assist an injured or ill person until medical aid arrives.

The flexible learning Apply First Aid course is designed to allow participants to complete the theory component in their own time either online or in a written workbook. Attendance at a one day face to face class to complete the practical training and assessment is required.

bulletFractures, dislocations and soft tissue injuries

bulletEnvenomation, poisoning and allergic reactions
bulletBurns and other thermal conditions
bulletMonitor the condition of the victim throughout the treatment
bulletFollow the relevant procedures for recording first aid situations
bulletDetail the victims condition and the first aid techniques applied

Entry Requirements: Participants must be 14 years or older

Course Duration: 8 hours face to face - plus online or workbook home study component

Assessment: Progressive assessment of the competencies will be conducted throughout the course. You will participate in both theory and practical sessions, which will be followed by a skills assessment and multiple choice theory test.

Award: On successful completion of the course, the participant will receive a statement of attainment which will be valid for 3 years as per the Australian Resuscitation Policy, the Perform CPR module is only valid for 1 year.
